LET'S DEBUNK SOME MYTHS......

There are so many urban myths surrounding how to store and serve sparkling wine. Here, we want to give you our definitive guide on how to best enjoy Codorníu and indeed any ‘Traditional Method’ Sparkling Wine.

STORAGE TIME

As a general rule, cava is meant to be drunk within 2 years of bottling. Reserva Vintage cavas will taste good for much longer, but most Codorníu found in the UK is best enjoyed young and fresh.

STORAGE LOCATION

When storing Codorníu, you want to keep it in a cool, stable environment. Light, heat and vibrations are the enemies to avoid. Keep away from your kitchen, which is usually the lightest, busiest & warmest room in the house.

If keeping Codorníu in the fridge, think about how often you open the door before deciding if that is the best ‘medium term’ storage place.

Contrary to popular belief, any sparkling wine made by the ‘Traditional Method’ should be stored upright, not on its side. We want the cork to stay dry to avoid any chance of those lovely bubbles escaping through it.
