Codorníu has over 450 years of winemaking expertise and its own extensive vineyard estate. We are in the unique position of controlling the winemaking process from selecting and planting the vines through the entire production to final bottling.

Our family-owned vineyards are located across D.O Cava. This allows our winemakers to work with grapes from a variety of regions, with different climates and soils, to obtain consistency. No other cava maker can say that. It allows us to perfect every single bottle and ensure that year after year, we produce the best quality that the harvest allows. 

With our own extensive vineyard holding, we have been able to experiment with different grape varieties over the years to see which do well around the cava region and produce the best flavours in the glass. This is how we incorporated Chardonnay and Pinot Noir into our blends. We now have the oldest holding of Pinot Noir in Spain and are certainly THE Spanish expert in this notoriously tricky to grow, but deliciously elegant, grape variety.

We have partnered with local vineyard owners for generations to source their best grapes to be combined with our own. Our viticulture team work with vineyard owners throughout the year and always share our hi-tech learnings to ensure they are progressing alongside us.

Combined, all of this provides us with flexibility to ensure our high quality standards are maintained and that you get to drink the best in your glass, year in year out.
